Accessibility

We want both Wuji apps to work well for everyone. This page describes the accessibility features supported in each app and flags known limitations. If something is missing or broken for you, please let us know — accessibility issues are treated as bugs.

Wuji Incense — iPhone & iPad

VoiceOver

All interactive controls — the duration selector, soundscape list, and session start button — have accessibility labels readable by VoiceOver. The animated incense stick and smoke are decorative and are hidden from the VoiceOver cursor so they do not create noise. You can navigate, configure, and start a session entirely without sight.

Voice Control

Interactive controls are labelled so they can be activated by name with Voice Control. You can say the name of a soundscape or duration option to select it.

Larger Text

Text in the app scales with your preferred text size set in Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text. Interface layout adjusts to accommodate larger sizes without clipping or overlap.

Dark Interface

Wuji Incense uses a dark color scheme throughout. There is no separate Light Mode — the dark environment is intentional to the experience of watching a candle-like flame.

Sufficient Contrast

Text and interactive labels use light tones against dark backgrounds. Controls and labels meet the WCAG AA contrast threshold. The orange ember color used for accents (timer numerals, session controls) may not meet contrast requirements for small text — we note this as a known limitation and are working to address it.

Differentiate Without Color Alone

Duration options and soundscape choices are identified by text labels, not color alone. Selected states use both a highlighted label and a visual indicator.

Reduced Motion

When Reduce Motion is enabled in Settings → Accessibility → Motion, the animated smoke is suppressed and the incense ember animation simplifies to a static glow. The app remains fully usable. You can enable this at any time and it takes effect immediately.

Captions

Not applicable. Wuji Incense does not include spoken dialogue or video content requiring captions.

Audio Descriptions

Not applicable. The app contains no video narration or visual story content.

Wuji — TV Meditation (Apple TV)

VoiceOver

The app supports tvOS VoiceOver. Menu items, theme tiles, soundscape options, and playback controls are labelled for VoiceOver. You can navigate using the Siri Remote d-pad and complete all primary tasks — selecting a theme, starting a session, adjusting soundscapes — without sight. Focus order follows a logical top-to-bottom, left-to-right sequence.

Voice Control

Voice Control on tvOS allows you to speak the name of on-screen buttons and menu items to activate them. All labelled controls in the app are reachable this way.

Larger Text

tvOS does not support Dynamic Type in the same way iOS does. Text in the app is designed for legibility at normal TV viewing distances. If text size is a concern, please contact us.

Dark Interface

All visual themes in the app use dark backgrounds. The app does not have a Light Mode option, which suits both the meditation context and living-room viewing conditions.

Sufficient Contrast

Overlay text, labels, and navigational elements are designed with legibility on large TV screens in mind. Light text on dark theme backgrounds meets WCAG AA contrast for normal text sizes at standard TV viewing distances.

Differentiate Without Color Alone

Theme and pack selection uses both visual imagery and text titles. Selected states use a visible focus ring and text highlight, not color alone.

Reduced Motion

When Reduce Motion is enabled in Apple TV Settings → Accessibility → Motion, the ambient background animations in each theme are simplified or replaced with a still frame. The app remains fully functional.

Captions

Not applicable. The app contains ambient audio (soundscapes, music) but no spoken dialogue or narrated content requiring captions.

Audio Descriptions

Not applicable. The visual content is ambient and decorative — there is no narrative video content that would benefit from audio description.
